Be a Playmaker
Have I
not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not
tremble or be dismayed, for the LORD your God is
with you wherever you go."
Joshua
1:9
Make a difference for good. May the world be a
better place because you were born. That is what
being a playmaker is all about – making a difference
in all situations. It is about leading courageously,
rejecting passivity and accepting responsibility. It
is about living a life of service, about being in
the game and not on the bench. It is about having
the attitude of Christ – about denying oneself,
taking up one’s cross, and following Jesus (Matt
16:24) every day. Study the lives of the leading
characters in the Bible. They were all playmakers.
Their lives mattered. They made a difference. Noah,
Abraham, Joseph, Joshua, David, Daniel, the Apostles
and Paul - they all were difference makers. Read
their stories. And they weren’t perfect – you can’t
score on every play. But you get back up and run the
next play. And you keep going until you finish the
game. Be
a playmaker. Make a difference for good. And
remember, God is with you wherever you go, so be
bold and courageous.
